Walking Path – Kirksville School Campus
This approximately 2-mile path circles the Kirksville public school district campus and is a popular spot for visitors with dogs or strollers. The path has a paved sidewalk and pet waste stations available.
Running Track – Kirksville School Campus
Kirksville High School’s Spainhower Field is surrounded by a paved track that is open to the public during hours the school team is not in practice. Proper footwear must be worn and pets are not allowed on the track.
Hiking & Biking Trails
To find more walking, running, hiking and biking paths around the City of Kirksville, see the City’s Hike & Bike Trail Map, the list of suggested running routes at Map My Run, and visit the Forest Lake Area Trail System (FLATS). FLATS is a community organization supporting the development, use, and maintenance of trails in Adair County.
Tennis Courts
Tennis courts are available to the public at both the Kirksville High School and Truman State University campuses during hours the school teams are not in practice. There are also public courts available at the City of Kirksville’s Patryla Park.
The Truman courts are located on S. Florence Street, close to LaHarpe Street. The High School courts are located behind the the stadium at Spainhower Field. And, Patryla Park is located on Decker Road just to the west of Osteopathy Street.
Kirksville MultiSport
Looking for a group to train with while in Kirksville? Kirksville Multisport is an informal group of runners, swimmers, and cyclists established to encourage camaraderie amongst active individuals in Northeast Missouri. Show up at a workout or contact them at kvmultisport@gmail.com.
City of Kirksville Parks
The City of Kirksville offers a variety of public parks throughout the area. Three of the parks, Brashear Park, Jaycee Park, and P.C. Mills Park even open wading pools during the summer months!
